Rosemead/Lakewood Boulevard

RoseWood Complete Corridor Vision Plan

A 16.5-mile, north-south multimodal corridor that integrates active transportation (ATP) facilities, bus rapid transit (BRT), and transit-oriented development (TOD).

The Rosemead-Lakewood Blvd. is a 28-mile route connecting the mountains to the ocean, and often serves as an alternative to I-605, which leads to congestion and safety issues.

Through the Rosemead – Lakewood (RoseWood) Complete Corridor Vision Plan, the City of Pico Rivera is collaborating with the cities of Downey, Paramount, Lakewood, and Long Beach to build synergy and streamline transit services while contributing to improved regional mobility, safety for vulnerable road users, and stimulating transit-oriented community and economic development.

The Vision Plan aims to transform the 16.5-mile south segment of the corridor, from Pico Rivera to Long Beach, into a multimodal corridor that incorporates high-quality active transportation facilities and, where feasible, dedicated bus guideways.

After rounds of technical analysis and community input, the project team completed the RoseWood Complete Corridor Vision Plan. On May 26, 2026, the Pico Rivera City Council approved the Vision Plan. You can read the full plan below.
